A great practice tip if youre an offensive or defensive lineman is to practice hitting the sled as often as you can. The sled is basically a slab of metal with padding on the end to represent the opposing line. You rush it and push it as you would when in a real game.

The stiff arm technique is a great tool for runningbacks and receivers. The stiff arm can block your opponent and it allow you to get extra time and yards. It is a simple trick that involves holding the arm out in the straight line.

Stamina is just as important to football as strength. Spend an hour a day doing cardio to increase stamina. You can run, cycle or climb stairs. You want it to be something easy, so you are able to do it for longer periods, increasing your stamina.

One of the things you should already know is that you need shoulder pads. It is crucial that they fit correctly. You dont want them to be too loose. Shoulder pads in poor condition can cause injuries if they fail during a hit.

Exercise

Football players exert tremendous amounts of energy during practice and games; therefore, it is important to eat enough calories to keep your energy levels at peak performance. Eating a variety of lean proteins and complex carbohydrates help give you the energy you need.

To be the best football player that you can be, proper nutrition to fuel your body is essential. Empty calories from soda and fast food should be avoided. Instead, eat whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables to provide your body with the energy it needs to keep you going all game long.

With this great advice at the ready, nothing can stop you from winning. As long as you use what you have learned, you shouldnt struggle with your game any longer. All that matters is that you try your best and you use your knowledge to better your game every time you hit the field.
